Details about that project have been released, along with information on other renovations planned for the Kentwood mall.

MLive reports that Woodland Mall owner PREIT plans to spend $100 million dollars on upgrades.

The 300,000 square foot Sears store will be replaced by 280,000 square feet of retail space. The Von Maur junior anchor store will be 60,000 square feet, along with 50,000 square feet for smaller shops.

Outside that wing, a row of restaurants will be added along 28th St. SE.

Other plans include adding an entrance to connect Celebration Cinema to the mall, upgrades to the outside of the anchor stores, and repaving the parking lots to eliminate potholes.

The Apple Store in Woodland also has plans to double its size.

Renovations are expected to be finished by October 2019.
