Where is Richard Simmons? Apparently Hanging out at Home

A raging mystery has been burning a hole in peoples minds for the past two years, where is Richard Simmons? After all, he hasn't been seen in public for more that two years, and people feared for him.

Some people feared that Simmons has been taken hostage by his housekeeper. His best friend suspected Voodoo was to blame and told the New York Daily News, “I think ‘tormented’ is the best word to describe his mental state. I think it was caused by black magic.” His rep dismissed the rumor and told People magazine that Simmons is “simply taking a break.”

Late last year, Crazy Days and Night published a blind item that probably explains the reason why the 67-year-old fitness guru became a recluse. He’s heartbroken after falling in love with someone who stole millions from him.

The blog alleged, “The boyfriend moved in and spent vast sums of the celebrity’s money. Since the day the boyfriend walked out, our celebrity has no life in him any longer. He never leaves the house and only rarely gets out of bed.”

Sunday night, he called Entertainment Tonight executive producer Brad Bessey. He denied rumors that he's been kidnapped. He claims a knee injury has kept him housebound.

Monday morning, he spoke by phone to the Today Show, and said all is well.
