Tulip Time begins in Holland on May 5. That's with or without tulips.

Here's when to expect to see tulips blooming in Holland this year.

No. They're not really giving tulips a salon experience.

It turns out tulips are very hearty plants and aren't bothered by the snow, ice and cold at all. In other words, tulips are tougher than many of us.

The snow can slow their growth a bit, but Tulip Time tells us the tulips are on schedule and they expect to "have blooms at the beginning of the festival and probably hit peak toward the end of the festival week."

Tulip Time and the City of Holland's Parks Supervisor Steve Zwiep are in contact almost daily with any updates or changes.

Tulip Time begins in Holland on May 5 and runs through May 13.
