What Do You Think Of The Belly Putter?

I had Golf Channel on the t.v. yesterday afternoon as I was making dinner and overhead the announcers talking about the merits of the belly putter.

I don't remember which player was using it, but the conversation got around to the merits of the belly putter and should it be a legal club. After all, the belly putter uses something other than the hands to steady the club. After a pregnant pause, the announcers pretty much said the USGA or PGA or whoever, should outlaw the belly putter. What do you think? Me, I like the footwedge.
