This Sunday, December 8, the West Michigan Symphony’s Children’s Choir will showcase talented young singers during its debut concert.
Choir members will perform twice, at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at The Block, the intimate new performance space of the West Michigan Symphony. The program will feature holiday favorites, including “The Bells of Christmas Medley” by Greg Gilpin, “Ave Verum” by Mozart and “We Need a Little Christmas” by Mark Hayes, as well as other songs. The choir is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank.
Thirty-five children ages 8-11 from Muskegon, Newaygo, Ottawa and Kent counties are members of the choir, which was formed in September. They were selected through an audition process and participate in weekly rehearsals.
Tickets for the concert are available in person at the West Michigan Symphony ticket office at The Block at 360 W. Western Avenue, Suite 409, Muskegon, or at the door on the day of the concert beginning at 1:15 p.m. Adult tickets are $10, seniors (65 and over) are $5, and students are free (18 and under or with a college ID).
