It's been a long week for many across West Michigan and we're not out of the woods yet.

Thousands remain without power following Sunday's strong winds.

As of 4:30am today, over 47,000 Consumers Energy customers in Michigan were still without power.

Outage totals include: Allegan (2,349), Barry (3,469), Calhoun (3,363), Eaton (1,471), Kalamazoo (4,864), and Kent (955).

“A second straight night of favorable weather conditions allowed us to make good restoration progress,” said Mary Palkovich, the utility’s vice president of energy delivery. “We continue to work safely to restore everyone’s power and we express our thanks to our valued customers for their continued patience.”

Because of the magnitude of the damage, some customers who have been without electric service since Sunday afternoon may not have their power restored until late Friday. Harder hit areas may not have their electric service restored until Saturday.

The power outage map below shows outages as of 9:45am on November 20.
