West Michigan Catholics Welcome Pope Francis, Celebrate With Special Mass
Yesterday, as the world watched, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was introduced as Pope Francis.
Today, West Michigan Catholics will celebrate with a special Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew.
Today's special Mass is at noon at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Bishop Hurley will offer prayers for Pope Francis. All are welcome.
Bishop Hurley spoke to WZZM about the election of Pope Francis:
"We're not speaking about a European church anymore. It is a global church," says Bishop Walter Hurley. "New beginnings are always exciting for everyone, so we're looking forward to it and we pray for him because the job he has is just an incredibly large one."
