Well, it's that time of the year again. The time when we set ourselves up for a potential massive failure  - with the dreaded weight loss/maintenance New Year's Resolution.

Being healthy and in shape rocks, and it's a lot easier  to maintain health homeostasis than to suddenly and frantically redouble our efforts at the start of a new year, so rather than resolve, it would be better to live more responsibly year after year so resolutions would be unnecessary, but since we've screwed it up so badly yet again, we might as well examine our options to head off that massive failure before it starts - and who knows, maybe even mitigate it all the way down to a moderate success.

First, ask your doctor before you change your diet or exercise routine. Once that's out of the way, here are some tips from the dietitians at Health.com.
