State Police  have a wedding band mystery on their hands.

Michigan State Police Sgt. John Tillman says that a woman from Muskegon County's Fruitport Township came into the Grand Haven post on Tuesday afternoon carrying a gold ring with the inscription "W.D.F to O" inside and two other worn-off letters.   The ring was made by a company called "Ring-o-Bliss."

Sgt. Tillman says the ring is valued at about $80.00; but to it's original owner, it's probably priceless.

Also inside the 14-karat gold band is the date "8/14/40" that may be the wedding date of the ring's owner.

The woman told Tillman that her son found it while cleaning out his black, extended-cab 1997 Ford 4X4 F-150 pickup that he purchased from a dealer in Twin Lake in 2000.

Anyone with information on the ring's owner may call Michigan State Police at 616-842-2100. Vehicle records also were being checked.
