There is a lot of good happening around here during the holiday season, and one very special event is happening today.

A large group of Grand Rapids Santa's Elves, several hundred actually, are getting together this morning to assemble more than 1,000 children’s bicycles that will be given away to an unsuspecting local neighborhood Saturday, Dec. 23. Yep, on the 23rd, they  drive a big semi-truck to the neighborhood, and give bicycles to all the children there.

This annual effort, now in its 13th year, is organized by local nonprofit Elves & More West Michigan. The Elves and More annual “build day,” is running from 8 to 11 a.m. at Van’s Delivery, 2280 Turner NW, Grand Rapids, MI, 49544. How great is that.

If that's not wonderful holiday spirit, I don't know what is. Thank you to all the volunteers!
