The Ionia County Economic Alliance and The Right Place, Inc. announced today that Ventra plans to invest up to $8.5 million to expand operations in the City of Ionia.

The expansion is expected to create up to 144 jobs.

Ventra Ionia Main, LLC, a subsidiary of Ventra Greenwich Holdings Corp., plans to invest up to $8.5 million to expand operations in the City of Ionia. To support the company’s expansion, it will receive $995,000 in state and local development support.

Ventra chose the Ionia location for expansion over other competing locations in the U.S. and Mexico.

Ventra has also been awarded a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.

The City of Ionia is expected to approve a tax abatement worth $495,000.

In 2007, Ventra acquired the 724,000 square foot facility which has continuously operated since 2000 at 14 North Beardsley Street in Ionia.

Ventra manufactures automotive front and rear bumpers and grille assemblies for original manufacturers including Ford and General Motors. The company also does stamping, welding, chrome plating, molding, assembly, and testing.
