Grand Rapids, already Beer City USA and Best Beer Town in the U.S., is expanding it's alcoholic craft beverage scene by welcoming Vander Mill Cider.

Vander Mill, LLC, a hard cider maker based in Spring Lake is coming to GR's Northeast side.

WZZM-13 reports that 7-year-old mill plans to turn a former beer distribution site into a large cider making and serving location.

The site, located at 435 and 505 Ball Avenue NE, is the former home to B&B Beer Distributing. It's 500% larger than the mill's current location.

Tuesday, Vander Mill won city commission support for tax relief, an incentive to invest in the older buildings

Vander Mill plans to invest over $1.5 million in the project that will create 75 new jobs at the new facility.

It is expected the new Vander Mill, which will include a tasting room, will open in the fall or early winter.
