Downtown Grand Rapids has its latest statue.

A 7-foot sculpture honoring Amway co-founder Jay Van Andel was unveiled Wednesday morning in front of the Van Andel Arena at Fulton Street and Ottawa Avenue.

WZZM TV13 reports this is the third sculpture in a series of 25 that recognizes historical figures who have contributed to the city of Grand Rapids.  The Grand Rapids Community Legends Project is exclusively funded by the Peter Secchia family.

Previously dedicated sculptures include: Lucius Lyon, located at Lyon St. and Monroe Ave., and Noahquageshik, also referenced as Chief Noonday, located on the Grand River's west bank, outside of Grand Valley Sate University's Eberhard Center.

Artist Brett Grill created the Van Andel sculpture.
