It looks like Usher fans will have to wait a little longer for his next album, "UR," which was expected to arrive later this year.

The singer reveals exclusively to Billboard that his eighth studio effort "isn't scheduled anymore."

So why the delay? The crooner tells the magazine that he wants to get it right.

"I've basically taken it back. I'm taking my time with it. At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio (and) go with how you feel," he says.

The singer adds that he's already recorded 40 to 50 songs, which he described as "very modern" and "current," but which don't "necessarily conform specifically."

For now, he is focusing on "having fun" with his featured guests including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Pop & Oak, Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri, Diplo, Ed Sheeran, Skrillex and Drake.

Usher is still scheduled to head out on his 27-city The UR Experience tour, with August Alsina, beginning in November.
