After the terrible news that the Corner Bar in Rockford burned down early Monday morning, the community has been coming together to show their support, including another restaurant in town.

Uccello's of Rockford announced on their Facebook page yesterday they would be holding a fundraiser on Thursday, August 17th where 15% of sales will be donated to the Corner Bar. However, due to the overwhelming response they have decided to extend the fundraiser until Saturday.

It will be from 4p to close on all days and will include dine-in and take-out orders. They also have donation jars set up in the restaurant if people want to drop extra money that way. You can get more info about the event here. In addition to the fundraiser, Uccello is going above and beyond by also offering temporary employment to those that need it.

Since the fire, the Corner Bar has been keeping people up-to-date on their Facebook page and while they are closed for now (and will be for a while) they promise to be back to serve the community!
