Grand Rapids Police are on the hunt for two men who are being sought in connection with two separate armed robberies near the main campus of Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday evening. Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

According to police, both incidents occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, with the first happening near Lafayette and Crescent and the other taking place a few blocks away at Barclay and Crescent. During each robbery, a man was walking down the sidewalk when the two suspects approached him asking what time it was and then demanded his wallet and other such valuables. One victim was threatened with a gun and the police believe that the second victim was hit in the face with the gun when he resisted.

Police have released descriptions of the suspects in question. One is described as a man between 5' 5" and 5'8", in his early twenties, with a slim build and scruffy facial hair. The other is described as an African American man in his early 20's, about 6' 1", with a medium build and short black hair.

If you have any information about these suspects, or the incidents themselves, you are asked to contact the GRPD at 616-456-3604, or to call Silent Observer (616-774-2345).
