Have you ever gone to the movies and the one you wanted to see was sold out? Right? So, then what do you do? You sand there looking at the board behind the ticket seller, gaping at what you might be able to see, but at a much later start time. Super bummer! So, let me ask again, what do you do? Have you thought about ziplining?

I know, is sounds a bit bizarre, but right across the parking lot of the Celebration North Imax Theater Lifestyle Center off the Beltline and Knapp, NE, here in Grand Rapids, is  the Grand Rapids Treetop Adventure Park, and it's is now open for its inaugural season.

The Tree Top Adventure Park is an exhilarating high ropes and zipline obstacle course set in one of the many beautiful forests Grand Rapids has to offer.

An Adventure Park is a combination of suspended obstacles above the forest floor like bridges, cargo nets, swinging logs, rings, skateboards and ziplines. Climbers stay securely clipped in with the self-guided, double-clip Click-it climbing system on the course. The courses range in difficulty from the easiest to most difficult, similar to ski resorts with green, blue, and black runs. The Junior Park offers four and five year olds the chance to climb like a squirrel in the woods. The most difficult courses will give anyone an American ninja-type challenge.

Climbers get started by completing a waiver form and pay for their ticket, which they can do online or at the park. Once arriving at the park, you will walk through a group training session where climbers are fitted with a harness and a park guide will walk through how to clip to safety cables, obstacles and ziplines.

The park is open to anyone from the ages of four and up. You can come alone, with friends and family, or in large group. This Treetop Adventure Park is ideal for school groups, corporate outings and team building, camps, scouts, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and adventure and adrenaline seekers.

The park is open seven days a week from 10am to 8pm. Private groups can book weekdays throughout the season, now through November.

So, what do you think? You can do it!
