It began in 1947 because a Marine Corp reservist, Major Bill Hendricks and his wife Diane, couldn't find any organization to donate toys to for children in need.  The rest, as they say, is history. Today, over 500 million new, unwrapped toys have been donated for needy children.

The holiday season is fast approaching, and if you're worried that your children will have to do without this holiday, don't fret.  It's easy to register your family to receive those toys to make any child's Christmas a happy one.

If you are in need of a toy, call 211, or the Holiday Hotline number, 616-459-2625. You will be asked for your zip code and will be directed to an appropriate registration site.

Registration ends on November 22, so don't delay.
