Today is the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day,  reminding all of us about the quest for civil rights and equality.

The day was Aug. 28, 1963, and the Rev. King was speaking at the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington, D.C.. About a quarter of a million people turned out to hear one of the most important and moving speeches in American history.

I think it only fitting that in honor of Dr. King, I give you the opportunity to watch a piece of history. Let's go back to 1963.....

Yes, today is a federal holiday, but not everybody has the day off.

I'm working. The broadcasting business can never take a day off.

But what about you?

Government offices are closed, there will not be any home mail delivery today, and banks are closed, as well, in honor of King.
