Grand Rapids-based regional economic development organization The Right Place, Inc., has been recognized by Global Trade magazine as one of the top 18 economic development corporations in the nation.

The organization was featured in a February 11 online article and will be recognized in the national publication’s next print issue as well. The Right Place, Inc. was the only group from Michigan on the inaugural list.

Global Trade magazine's Keri Forsythe-Stephens said:

Representing one of the fastest-growing metro economies in the nation, Grand Rapids-based The Right Place gives companies the tools they need to succeed, members of the economic development organization say. Small and medium-sized manufacturers particularly benefit from the guidance of The Right Place, thanks to its Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, which fosters both technical and soft skills job training. The organization has also developed The Manufacturers Council peer networks, as well as a group for medical device companies—actions highlighting The Right Place’s culture of collaboration.

“This recognition is very significant for us,” said Birgit Klohs, President and CEO, The Right Place, Inc. “To be acknowledged for our international success by this well-known publication validates that The Right Place has become a global resource for business success in West Michigan.”

“This ranking reiterates the importance of having a leading economic development organization like The Right Place servicing West Michigan businesses,” said Richard Breon, President and CEO, Spectrum Health, and current Board Chair of The Right Place.
