The Milhouse Kids Play FootGolf [Video]
What is FootGolf?
Good question.
The sport is growing in popularity.
I decided to see what all the excitement was about and took my kids out to try FootGolf.
If you like soccer or golf, FootGolf might be worth a try.
If you like both, you may be wondering why you didn't think of this first.
Maple Hill Golf Course in Grandville is one of a growing number of golf courses across the country giving the sport a try.
The scores are similar to regular golf, but the courses are much shorter. Maple Hill offers an expert level course (The Beast), an intermediate course, and one for kids.
So far, FootGolf has been left to weekends, evenings, and special events at Maple Hill.
Future growth is possible, as turnout has been strong.
If you'd like to try FootGolf, there is still one night scheduled for the season on Sunday, September 14 from 5:00pm - dark.
I gave it a shot with my kids earlier this month and we had fun! I learned, that just like in traditional golf, getting stuck behind a tree is a bad idea. Yet I still seem to do it often for some reason.
There are a few basic common sense rules.
This rule is my favorite, "any player struck by his own kick, plays the ball as it lies with adding one penalty stroke."
Struck by his own kick?
I didn't play great, but I wasn't THAT bad.
Check out of few of our shots below.
