The Tanger outlet mall proposed for Byron Center took a big step forward last week.

The Tanger outlet mall was expected to be approved by the Byron Township board on December 9.

Some neighboring businesses objected after they did not receive the required 15-day notice before the rezoning hearing.

The board's final vote was moved to January, but those businesses dropped their objections allowing the Byron Township board to move ahead with the vote and approve the outlet mall last week.

Woodtv.com reports:

Tanger officials will submit final plans for the project in January; construction will start in June 2014, and it should be completed in fall 2015.

Just two years until another option for West Michigan Christmas shoppers!
