The Pirates are coming! The Pirates are coming!  Really! On Saturday, October 18, the Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) will welcome Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship. It's an exhibition of the story of Whydah, the first authenticated pirate shipwreck in U.S. waters off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum announced that on Thursday, October 16, 2014, the Museum will be the host venue for the world premiere of the new film “Pirate’s Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson.” The film, produced by 10West Studios and EMC Productions and filmed in Manistee and Muskegon, will be distributed domestically by Pure Flix Entertainment and internationally by The Highland Film Group

On Saturday, aspiring pirates invaded downtown Grand Rapids for a treasure hunt!

Over 200 artifacts including treasure, weapons and more will be coming to the Grand Rapids Public Museum this fall for the exhibit "Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship."

I must tell you when I first heard about this story I somehow knew these people would not be as fortunate as the others have been.  When the other yachts and boats were overtaken by pirates there were these takeovers where the pirates lost and the rescuers and hostages won...
