There have been a handful of ArtPrize entries loved by both art professionals and the public over the years, Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" is one of those. The entry won the Juried Grand Prize at ArtPrize Seven. The popular entry has had its pink siding removed.

Hyperallergic has named their "Top 10 Exhibitions Across the United States" of 2015. SiTE:LAB’s Rumsey Street Project at ArtPrize is in the Top 10.

The winners of ArtPrize Seven were announced tonight at The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Two $200,000 Grand Prizes were awarded. The Public Vote winner was Loveless PhotoFiber's "Northwood Awaking." The Jury Award winner is Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground."

Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" is nominated in the Time-Based category on the Jurors' Shortlist. The ArtPrize Seven entry also appeared in the Public Vote Top 25, but didn't make it to the final round.  Take a closer look at "Higher Ground".

It takes thousands of volunteer hours to make ArtPrize a success. Some volunteers work directly for ArtPrize, some for venues, others assist artists. Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" has a very unique volunteer opportunity. Gilmore needs women to wear white dresses and swing for one-hour shifts.
