Opening weekend of LaughFest included an opportunity for kids to work off some energy at the Super Saturday Kids Zone!

They held a celebration luncheon Wednesday to announce the check donation from over 65 restaurants and sponsors who participated in Restaurant Week Grand Rapids . During the lunch, five students from Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education were awarded scholarships from the fund created by Restaurant Week Grand Rapids donations.

Restaurant Week Grand Rapids restaurants, restaurant chefs, and sponsors, announced  four scholarship winners from Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education who received financial assistance from Restaurant Week donations.

A man knocking on doors here in Grand Rapids, claiming to be collecting cash donations for Grand Rapids Community College and the Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids, is actually attempting to scam people, according to GRCC.

The 39th President of the United States will be making his way to Grand Rapids for a lecture and book signing.

Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education has been named one of America’s Top 20 Culinary Schools by FSR magazine.

GRCC is set to receive $4.1 million in grant money.  The college is part of the Michigan Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing, which was awarded a much larger $24.9 million grant, of which GRCC gets a share. GRCC will use the money used to upgrade manufacturing programs, purchase equipment better suited to teach advances in manufacturing and also for new equipment to grow their current educational

Grand Rapids Police are on the hunt for two men who are being sought in connection with two separate armed robberies near the main campus of Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday evening. Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
