The nation’s first ever community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda’s LaughFest, announced plans to kick off this year’s festival by inviting the community to help set another Guinness World Record on Thursday, March 6, for the most people wearing sunglasses in the dark.

Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) is partnering with LaughFest to host a ping-pong tournament and drop-in play at UICA’s newly opened Art Commons during the comedy festival benefiting Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.

The excitement is mounting.  LaughFest 2014 is but 9 weeks away.  Ticket packages and group sales have been going on for the past several weeks, and now Individual tickets for Gilda’s LaughFest will go on sale today, Friday, January 10 at 10 a.m.

Gilda’s LaughFest, the nation’s first community-wide festival of laughter, has added LaughFest returning comedian Mike Birbiglia to the 2014 festival lineup.

The nation’s first-ever community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda’s LaughFest, announced its first round of talent and shows lined up for the festival’s fourth year to be held March 6 to 16, 2014.

Gilda’s LaughFest, the nation’s only community-wide festival of laughter, is recruiting talent to participate in free community showcases during LaughFest 2014. Individuals of all ages, and groups of any size, are encouraged to showcase their talents during Gilda’s LaughFest. Applications are being accepted online through December 1 at www.laughfestgr.org.

Job well done, guys!  2013 was a very, very good year for the nation’s only ten day community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda’s LaughFest.  That is because they had more than 53,000 admissions during the third annual event.

Gilda’s LaughFest is off and running, having kicked off the 10-day funny fest, with a record-setting event yesterday, the Mustache Event.

They're doing it again, trying to set a world's record. It's always funny stuff, and today's announcement is no different, that the nation’s first ever community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda’s LaughFest, will attempt to break an existing Guinness World Record.

Only four weeks before another hilarious 10-days begins in Grand Rapids.  It will be time for LaughFest 2013! It will be comedy from one end of the city to the other, and other local communities as well, including Holland and Lowell, with some of the country's top comedians.

It takes a lot of people to make sure Gilda's LaughFest is a success.  Hundreds of volunteers help in so many different areas.  How would you like to be one of them?
