East Kentwood Administration describe the fight between a male and female student as ‘Disturbing and unacceptable’

The assault happened on Tuesday night at Grand Haven High School.

Winners move on to the state quarterfinals.

Opening weekend features some big local rivalries.

We are very fortunate in West Michigan to have so many schools, administrators and teachers dedicated to providing our youth with opportunities for a bright future. East Kentwood High School math teacher Luke Wilcox is one of those teachers. He has been named the 2017-18 Michigan Teacher of the Year.

A successful weekend for West Michigan student-athletes as boys tennis and girls golf champions were crowned. There were a number of strong finishes from West Michigan schools including championship wins by Forest Hills Central Boys Tennis and from East Kentwood and Spring Lake Girls Golf teams.

The Michigan High School Boys and Girls Track & Field State Championships were decided over the weekend. East Kentwood and Zeeland West Boys Track & Field teams each brought home championships!

West Michigan was well represented over the weekend as Michigan's spring season for high school sports begins to wind down. East Kentwood, Kelloggsville, and Rockford each brought home a team championship!

East Kentwood's Tia Brooks missed qualifying for the shot put final on Monday. Brooks, an East Kentwood High School graduate, threw 17.72 meters (just over 58 feet).  Brooks' throw was good for 11th place in her qualifying group of 16 and 20th of all 32 competitors. The top 12 qualified for the finals.
