Yesterday was the “Empty the Shelter” event at 69 animal shelters around Michigan.  The event was sponsored by Bissell Pet Foundation, who paid the adoption fees for the over 1,500 pets that were adopted! Kopi Luwak coffee is made from coffee berries which have been partially digested and excreted by a cat-like animal, the Asian palm civet. The coffee was made famous in the movie, "The Bucket List". The $600/pound coffee was recently tasted in Holland.

Hundreds of pets have died and thousands have become ill after having jerky treats. The FDA has issued a statement about the treats and continues to look for answers.
