This ArtPrize entry had a lot of buzz around it.  The video does not do it justice.  You HAVE TO see it in person, because feeling the experience is actually part of the whole thing. The artist who created it was nice enough to let me take the controls on Tuesday afternoon before I interviewed him about the piece. Check out the video after the jump!

If you were hoping to be the only guy to have a 55 foot pig in your backyard, now is your chance. Creators of the Steampig are dismantling the pig and getting rid of it. The number 9 finisher in last year's ArtPrize has to be gone in order to make room for a new something.

The final deadline for artists to enter their art work in ArtPrize was yesterday at 5pm.  A total of 1,582 artists will participate in Artprize 2011 at 162 venues.  Those numbers are down from last years 1,713 artists and 192 venues.  But the art work pieces will be bigger...

The first day of Summer was yesterday so now we know that ArtPrize is officially getting close.  There will be an Artist Help and Hospitality Reception tonight to help round up volunteers for ArtPrize.
