Police have arrested a man for alleged theft and assault after they found him hiding in the attic of a Grandville residence.

Walker Police posted the information to Facebook along with the suspect's photo.

They say a man wanted in connection with another larceny was spotted south of Standale on Tuesday. He allegedly assaulted a store worker after attempting to steal merchandise, and then a customer who tried to prevent him from leaving.

When police arrived, the suspect fled in a car through a residential neighborhood. Officers eventually called off the chase because of heavy traffic, but they were able to get the license plate.

Later, police and a K9 Deputy were able to locate the suspecting hiding in the attic of a Grandville home.

He's now at Kent County Jail on several felony warrants, plus as a list of new charges from yesterday’s incident.
