The man who is accused of murdering a woman near a parking garage near Grand Rapids Community College's campus and then dumping her body in some bushes has been ordered to stand trial.

Marcus Bivens was bound over to circuit court Thursday morning on an open murder charge. Jeanne Huntoon was stabbed and beaten to death in the early morning hours of April 30, 2016. Bivens' bond was also denied.

Bivens was arrested the day after the murder, and WOOD-TV reports that he confessed to the killing and told police that he would kill again.

Huntoon and Bivens were not acquainted with each other in any way, and police stated at the time of Bivens' arrest that they believed this was a "random act of violence."
