St. Patrick’s Day Parade Set For Saturday Morning, Here Are The Streets Effected
The Ancient Order of Hiberians Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off from the corner of Lyon and Monroe, Saturday at 11:00am.
The parade will wind its way up Monroe Center to Division and then down to Library, where it will hang a right and conclude in front of The Fitzgerald Apartment building, 27 Library Street NE.
The parade will cause streets along the parade route (Lyon from Ottawa to Monroe, Monroe from Lyon to Monroe Center, Monroe Center from Monroe to Division and Division from Monroe Center to Library) to close beginning at 9:00am, those closures will be in effect until 1:00pm.
Afterwards, Quinn and Tuite’s Irish Pub, 1535 Plainfield NE, will host an after party from 1:00pm until midnight featuring live traditional Irish music and rock music from the likes of Conklin Cieli Band and the Pub Runners.
For more information on St. Ptrick’s Day events around West Michigan, there’s a wonderful web site that keeps track of everything Eireann related in the Mitten State called Michigan Irish that you can check out.
And don’t forget, Laughfest tips its hat to the holiday with an Irish Comedy Show slated for March 16 at 20 Monroe Live.
After that, you can raise the Parting Glass and head home, fully filled with Guiness until the party starts again next Friday afternoon.
