Thanks so much to Ann, one of my Facebook friends, for sending me this article. She said she saw me on WZZM 13 talking about this one story in the news. A few weeks back an employee donated a kidney to her boss who then proceeded to fire her. By the amount of email and Facebook posts I received, most people did understand the point I was trying to make. The point being, it's best to not do something expecting something in return. What was "owed" or "expected" from this so-called "donation" should have been discussed beforehand.

This video already went viral and with the school year soon coming to a close I thought it might be appropriate to share this with you today.
Think back to your childhood. You may have been lucky enough to have a couple teachers who really meant something to you. I was fortunate to have a handful. Long after I left elementary, middle and high school I stayed in touch with many of my teachers. I would go back and visit them in Detroit or speak for a career day. I considered them my friends long after my school years.

It's been moved to the Spring and if this is the first you've heard about it, it's happening this weekend! The Heritage Hills 43rd Annual Weekend Tour of Homes happens Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th.
It's a chance to go back in time as families in the Heritage Hills neighborhood open up their beautiful homes to the public. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Noon to 6 pm on Sunday.

This is the closest many of us will ever get to seeing animals in a somewhat natural habitat. At least they are protected and won't be hunted down like so many animals in the wild. Rhino's in South Africa were the animals most recently in the news.
So if you want to see animals that are protected, loved, and nurtured we have two zoos in our area that are now officially open. The John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids and the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.

It was the apple farmers greatest fear and honestly it was my greatest fear too, because no one in this country can grow tasty apples like Michigan farmers can. Well, this season is pretty much a bust for West Michigan apple growers.

It happened to me recently and thought I'd share it with you. I was working in the yard recently when it was raining, and three white males walked up my driveway. They were in their early 20's, all wearing orange caps with white lettering on them, they parked a taupe colored, medium sized car in front of one of the neighbors homes
