Shopping Downtown Grand Rapids Could Net a New Year’s Eve Prize Package

Ah, Christmas shopping. The hustle and bustle of it all.

I'm pooped just thinking about it.  Which, by the way, I'm going to start my Christmas shopping any day now.

It seems that thousands are at the malls working their way from store to store, all the top chains open and gladly accepting your money.

But what about something local?  What about shopping at the locally-owned shops of Downtown Grand Rapids?

Downtown Grand Rapids once was the destination in West Michigan.

But as malls grew, shoppers moved.  Downtown Grand Rapids had to re-invent itself.

It's absolutely beautiful downtown.  All of the beautiful lights, fun restaurants and clubs, and lots of wonderful shopping in one-of-a-kind shops.

To encourage downtown shopping, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., announced a promotion to reward downtown Grand Rapids shoppers by entering them into a drawing for a New Year’s Eve prize package when spending least $100 in Downtown Grand Rapids over the holidays.

Shoppers must bring receipts totaling $100 in purchases made to the Downtown Grand Rapids office at 29 Pearl St. NW, Suite 1. Shoppers have a chance at a night's stay at the Amway Grand Plaza, entertainment and dinner on New Year’s Eve.

Receipt for purchase made between Nov. 30 and Dec. 24 must be brought to the Downtown Grand Rapids office by noon Dec. 26 to be entered. Each qualified $100 spent downtown earns shoppers an entry for the New Year’s Eve prize package.

The winner will be announced at 4 p.m. Dec. 26.
