I'm kind of a weather geek.  Having grown up in eastern Iowa and then living in Wichita, Kansas, I always had an appreciation for severe weather and strong storms.

Since Wichita is right in the thick of "tornado alley," some of my days on the radio included covering severe weather, some days included actually chasing down rotating wall clouds (that's what tornadoes are before they become funnel clouds) and other days spent in the basement waiting for storms to pass.

That said, I'm not sure I would have the nerves necessary to ride out a tornado inside a vehicle.  Even if that vehicle were the "Tornado Intercept Vehicle" built specifically for that purpose.  Then again, I've never tried it, so...
