Scotty From Star Trek Makes Final Journey

You remember it, right?  “To boldly go where no man has gone before.”  It was part of Star Trek.  Okay, if you don’t know it, maybe your husband does.  Go say it to him.  I’ll wait here.

See?

Anyway, today, the remains of the guy who played “Scotty” on Star Trek will be spread into space.

It’s a privately owned rocket lifting off from Cape Canaveral whose main reason is to deliver food, clothes and supplies for 6 astronauts on board the International Space Station.

However, its second purpose is to spread remains of hard-core space fans into, well, space.  Those people include actor James Doohan, who was chief engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott on the original Star Trek television series.

Okay, geekiness off.
