Sam Smith's debut album "In The Lonely Hour" has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than one million units.

It follows platinum certifications for his debut single, "Stay With Me," and his current smash, "I'm Not The Only One."

Smith just received six Grammy Award nominations, including album of the year for "In The Lonely Hour;" song of the year for "Stay With Me;" and best new artist.

The 22-year-old British artist paid tribute to Frank Sinatra with a performance of the legendary singer's classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" on CBS' "A Very Grammy Christmas" earlier this month.

"In The Lonely Hour" entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2.

Smith headlines a 17-date North American tour next month, opening Jan. 9 in Atlanta with performances Jan. 22 in Detroit and Jan. 23 in Chicago.
