If you like to eat healthy or just enjoy a good salad or wrap from time to time, you might want to think twice on where you buy it because several of your favorite stores have contaminated beef, pork and poultry salad and wrap products.

According to WZZM, the United States Department of Agriculture said stores that include Kroger, Trader Joe's and Walgreen's have contaminated salad and wrap products contaminated with Cyclospora..

An Indiana based food supplier, Caito Foods LLC, was inspected by the Food Safety and Inspection Service which alerted consumers nationwide that a lettuce supplier has recalled some chopped romaine that was used in their salads and wraps were affected.

Cyclospora is an intestinal parasite that causes diarrhea, loss of appetite, fatigue, flu like symptoms, nausea, weight loss, stomach cramps and pain.

The products that were affected have a best if sold by date ranging from July 18-23.

The FSIS are working with distributors to have the affected products removed from store shelves.

If you have eaten one of salads or wraps, you may not have realized you have been infected due to the period of incubation for Cyclospora because it ranges 2 to 14 days.

If you have purchased any of these products, the FSIS are asking that you throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
