It's always tons of fun in downtown Rockford and Squires Street Square.  Quaint shops, great dining selections, and fun for the whole family.

In February, the Fourth Annual Rockford Ice Festival is scheduled for the 8th, 9th & 10th. Thousands come every year to downtown Rockford. The schedule is set for 2013, and is even bigger than 2012. This amazing event features LIVE ice carving by the Ice Guru organization, featuring the talents of Randy Finch of the Food Network’s Ice Brigade.

Each year, picturesque downtown Rockford is transformed into a vision of ice, offering winter wonderland fun for folks of all ages and stages, and this year will be no different. Just imagine chain saw wielding ice carvers transposing huge blocks of ice into amazing sculptures…9 holes of miniature ice golf…interactive ice games …snowman building…a scavenger hunt throughout the town to locate dozens of ice sculptures…free hot cocoa…photography contest…music & entertainment…an Ice Bowl Dance…a chili cook off…watch participants take a dip in the icy waters of the Rogue River during Rockford Rotary’s Sweetheart Splash…and THOUSANDS of guests discovering the enchantment of downtown Rockford during Rockford’s Ice Festival.

In addition, the Rockford Area Arts Commission will be hosting its Second Annual Snow Ball dance at Thousand Oaks Golf Club from 6-11 p.m. This wonderful event will give you a chance to celebrate a special Valentine’s date with the love of your life, with delicious food, live entertainment and dancing. The 4th Annual Ice Festival promises to be BIGGER and BETTER than last year – which is not an easy act to follow. Last year’s festival drew more than 10,000 and was highlighted nationally!
