Whenever I see a news story that talks about more jobs coming to Grand Rapids and/or West Michigan it always piques my interest.  It's a good thing, right?  I mean when you think of all the people who have lost jobs in Michigan it can be a bit overwhelming.  Any bit of news about jobs moving here is a good thing.

Right now Rockford Construction is looking to relocate to Grand Rapids, possibly as early as this summer, in addition to creating 160 jobs. They are looking into cleaning up an abandoned factory and using it as the company's new headquarters.  It is located right off of 1st Street, a few blocks west of US-131.  Currently the site is deemed "contaminated" but Rockford Construction is negotiating a deal with the city and the state to help remove environmental hazards.  If the deal gets approval Rockford Construction could break ground on the nearly $5 million project as early as late Summer.
