A big jump in reports of flu-like illness in Southwest Michigan a couple of weeks ago, has been followed by a big decline of reports helping total reports in Michigan to decline slightly.

Last week's report from the Michigan Department of Community Health shows that statewide 4.5% of office/clinic visits were for flu-like illness.  This is down slightly from the previous week, but above the average of our region.

The Southeast and Southwest regions of the state had the lowest percentage of reports of flu-like illness.  The Northern region of Michigan reported the highest level of flu-like illness.

There have been at least 148 hospitalizations for the flu so far this flu season in Michigan.

Flu shots remain available all over Grand Rapids.  Find out where to get your flu shot.
