This week's update on reports of flu-like symptoms in Michigan shows a rise in the statewide average to the highest point we've seen since last winter. However, reports from West Michigan fell and are the lowest in the state.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issues a weekly report on the spread of the flu. They use the results of a statewide survey which asks hospitals and doctor's offices to report instances of flu-like symptoms.

The latest report analyzes data for the week ending November 7. There were 11,134 offices visits and 147 of them were for influenza-like illnesses.
