Tiger Stadium in Detroit is looooong gone, but fans of the ballpark will soon have a chance to relive the experience of the historic ballpark.

Ballparks of America (Branson, Missouri) is building two-thirds-scale replicas of some of the most famous major league baseball stadiums of the past and present. Ballparks being built include: Detroit's Tiger Stadium, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Boston’s Fenway Park, and St. Louis’ Busch Stadium.

Construction begins this month in Branson, Missouri. The first day of games is planned for summer of 2015.

Once complete, the site will host youth baseball teams for tournaments. In addition to the baseball stadiums, the venue will include on-site dormitories for youth teams, retail shopping and fan experiences found at current major league baseball facilities.

Hamilton Chang (CEO of Ballparks of America) said, “we are trying to make it the Epcot Center of ballparks."

Ballparks of America promises more shade and more concessions than found at typical youth fields. They said the concept was to create the ultimate youth baseball experience for everyone involved, from players to coaches to parents and siblings.
