Rediscovering A Great Golf Course

Want to get a word in for a friend of mine who has resurrected one of Michigan's best golf courses. Mike Husby helped put Candlestone back on the map a few years ago, today he is one of the brilliant minds behind the return of LochenHeath Golf Club

near Traverse City. LochenHeath opened about 12 years ago, was was designed to be one of Michigan's great private golf courses. Shortly after opening, our economy took a dive and LochenHeath fell upon hard times, eventually closing. Mike and some friends reopened and rebuilt the course, and let me tell you it is great. Rolling hills, Lake Michigan views....everything you like in a golf course. It is not an easy course, but that is what makes it fun. I can't wait to play Lochenheath again. ( It helps that I played well this last time out ) Loved the clubhouse staff too. Very helpful. If you are heading north this summer for golf, give LochenHeath a try.
