The Grand Rapids Griffins are teaming up with the Salvation Army to Ring Bells today, December 18th.

They'll be at the Kentwood Family Fare, 6127 Kalamazoo, SE from 2 to 5 p.m., TODAY!This afternoon is going to be a great time to meet some of the Griffin's and Red Wings great, Chris Chelios, and, support the Salvation Army this holiday season.

Four Griffins players, three coaches and a Red Wings legend will ring bells for The Salvation Army in hour-long shifts. With two kettles on site, each hour will feature a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money.

From 2-3 p.m., Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill and Detroit Red Wings advisor to hockey operations Chris Chelios (three-time Stanley Cup champion) will be ringing.  They'll "face-off" against Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek (two-time Stanley Cup champion) and Griffins analytics and advance scouting coach Spiros Anastas to see which team can collect the most donations.

Then, from 3-4 p.m., it will be Forward Landon Ferraro vs. defenseman Brian Lashoff, and from 4-5 p.m., it will be Forward Mitch Callahan vs. goalie Tom McCollum.

Of course, Griff will also make an appearance during the event, too.

This is just another example of how the Grand Rapids Griffin's give back to the community.

Come on out, this afternoon, December 18th, to the Kentwood Family Fare and support The Salvation Army with the Griffin's.
