General Motors is adding more vehicles to a previously-announced recall of certain compact cars.  Announced today, this one includes SUV's, pickups and certain Cadillac models for defective airbags and other problems.

Additional vehicles affected include:

  • 2008-2009 and 2010-2013 Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia
  • 2010-2013 (and certain 2009) Chevrolet Traverse
  • 2008-2010 Saturn Outlook
  • 2013-2014 Cadillac XTS
  • Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans

The Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse and Saturn Outlook vehicles may have problems with their side or front air bags and seat belt pretensioners not deploying if drivers ignore an air bag warning light on their dashboard.

The cargo full-size vans are being recalled because of material on the instrument panel not protecting unbelted passengers in a crash. GM says the material needs to be reworked because it doesn't meet federal standards.

The Cadillac XTS models are being recalled because of a potential electrical shorting problem in the brake assembly which could cause an engine fire.
