Prada the dog came calling today.

Prada visited with Andy Rent as he talked about him on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday.

Jona, from the Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Prada into the studios. Prada is an 8-year old Siberian Husky/Boarder Collie mix, and is an owner surrender dog.

According to Pet Breeds.com, the Border Collie is better in watching out for intruders. It will bark and alert its owners of an intruder’s presence. Having a reliable companion with this ability can give more peace of mind. Furthermore, the dog can be depended on to defend and protect its owner and family. The Border Collie has better adaptability. It can better respond and alter itself to its environment. Hot weather won’t be an issue,

Prada needs a good, loving home, but, being a senior dog, would do better in a home with older, respectful children, or possible a retired couple. She is a member of the Senior Paws circle, so her adoption fee is waived. Prada is FREE to the right home.

Jona mentioned they are holding another behavior seminar this coming Monday evening 6:15 to 7:30pm, on hard-to-handle dogs. It's only a $10 donation and you'll be hearing and working with their behaviorist.

Tonight, Wednesday, May 11, is Iron Bartender Night at Stella's, downtown Grand Rapids. It's a fund raiser for the Humane Society from 6 to 9 pm with several Mixologists creating some unique cocktails. It's a $5 cover charge, and that $5 dollars all goes to the Humane Society.

Summer is just around the corner, and the Humane Society has weekly summer camps for kids of all ages. Sign your kids up today because it will be a summer to remember for your children.

You can get all the information on the Humane Society website or call (616) 453-8900.
