Disco and pop music icon Donna Summer has died, according to gossip site TMZ.  According to TMZ, she passed away after a battle with cancer and died in Florida.  She was 63 years old.

She was born LaDonna Adrian Gaines, and later changed her name, won 5 Grammy's and became known as the Queen Of Disco. Donna revolutionized dance music with songs "Love to Love You Baby" and "I Feel Love."

During the 80's, Summer put out such hits as "She Works Hard For The Money" and "This Time I Know It's For Real". She also became the first woman and the first African-American Artist ever to win a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance for "Hot Stuff". While Summer has been mentioned as a candidate for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she has yet to be inducted.
