People Doing Good doesn’t get any better than this story from MLive about two young boys that wanted to give back!

Caleb and Jacob Graves are 10 and 7, respectively and they decided that at such a young age, that they wanted to help the homeless.  The idea to give back came to the boys after they saw a man panhandling on a street corner while on vacation.

So this summer, Caleb, and Jacob spent their time away from school collecting and returning bottles and cans with the goal of throwing a pizza party for the homeless in Grand Rapids through Degage ministry.

MLive reports that Friday, they reached their goal as they threw a pizza party at Peppino’s Sports Bar in downtown Grand Rapids. Actually, they did even better than they planned, because they raised $1,579 by returning the cans and bottles and Peppino’s donated 30 pizzas for the party.  That means the money the boys were able to raise will go to Degage Ministries to help with feeding those in need and the monthly birthday celebrations Degage throws for their patrons.

The Mlive story also says the boys stood at the end of the pizza line and handed out drinks and notes to all who attended.

I hope these boys are just getting started on their life of giving back because it’s awesome and much-needed/appreciated!  Kudos Caleb and Jacob – and well-done mom and dad!
