There will be a big sky show this weekend, something you shouldn't miss.  It should be a blast for the whole family.

The Perseid Meteor Shower will be shooting across the sky both Saturday night/Sunday morning, and if weather predictions are accurate, viewing should be terrific.

So, the Grand Rapids Public Museum's Chaffee Planetarium and GRAAA (Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association) have teamed together to sponsor a FREE watch party, a pajama party of sorts, Saturday night.  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food if you like, and soft drinks.  No alcohol is allowed.

The watch party begins at 11:30 pm Saturday night thru dawn Sunday morning, since the best viewing is overnight, at the Cascade Township Park, just east off Thornapple River Drive via Nick Kik Drive which is north of the I-96 overpass.

For sky and event status update, check the GRAAA website, www.graaa.org, and the Grand rapids Public Museum's website, www.grmuseum.org.
